Karma Cleaning — Program Rules
Karma Cleaning is a monthly community giveback initiative offered by That Cleaning Company.
Eligibility
Karma Cleaning is available to residents of South and Southwest Calgary, Alberta.
Individuals may nominate themselves or someone else. No purchase or payment is necessary to participate.
What’s Included
One recipient will be selected each month to receive a complimentary residential cleaning service of up to four hours, with an approximate maximum value of $240 CAD.
Cleaning will follow That Cleaning Company’s standard cleaning checklist. Specialty services and additional cleaning requests are excluded.
Nominations & Selection
Nominations remain open year-round and automatically carry forward to future monthly selections unless withdrawn.
One entry per nominee will be considered. Duplicate nominations do not increase the chances of selection.
One potential recipient will be randomly selected each month from eligible nominations. The odds of selection depend on the number of eligible nominations received.
The first selection will take place in November 2026.
Recipient Notification
Selected nominees or their nominators will be contacted by email.
A response is required within 72 hours of notification. If no response is received, another recipient may be selected.
Selection does not guarantee service until eligibility, recipient acceptance, property suitability, and scheduling have been confirmed.
Privacy & Consent
Nomination information will be used to administer Karma Cleaning.
Recipients are not required to participate in photography, filming, testimonials, or social media content.
Personal information and nomination stories will not be publicly shared without appropriate consent.
Previous Recipients
Each individual may receive a Karma Clean only once. Once a recipient has accepted and received their complimentary cleaning, they will no longer be eligible for future selections.
Monthly Selection
One eligible nominee will be randomly selected each month on the 15th. Each nominee may have only one active entry, regardless of the number of nominations received on their behalf. Nominations received before the selection takes place are eligible for that month's draw. Later submissions carry forward.
Nominations carry forward until withdrawn or until the nominee receives a Karma Clean. Each recipient may receive a Karma Clean only once.
Selected nominees or their nominators must respond within 72 hours of notification. If no response is received, another eligible nominee may be randomly selected.
No purchase or payment is necessary to participate.
Recipient Acceptance
Selected nominees must agree to receive the service before an appointment is confirmed. If the selected nominee or their nominator does not respond within 72 hours of notification, another potential recipient may be selected.
Information Storage and Retention
Karma Cleaning nominations are submitted through Squarespace and stored within our Squarespace account. A copy of each submission is also sent to our business email.
Access to nomination information is limited to those responsible for administering Karma Cleaning.
Active nominations are retained for future monthly selections unless withdrawn. Once a recipient has received their Karma Clean, their nomination will be removed from the active selection pool.
Personal information will be securely deleted or anonymized when no longer reasonably required for the initiative, subject to applicable legal and business recordkeeping obligations.
Nominators and nominees may request withdrawal of a nomination or inquire about their personal information by contacting info@thatcleaningcompany.ca.
Skill-Testing Question
Before being confirmed as the recipient of a Karma Clean, the randomly selected individual must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without assistance. If the selected individual does not meet this requirement, declines the service, or does not respond within 72 hours, another eligible individual may be randomly selected.
Additional Conditions
Cleaning appointments are subject to reasonable scheduling availability, property accessibility, and acceptance of applicable cleaning service terms.
That Cleaning Company reserves the right to decline service where health, safety, accessibility, or other reasonable service-related concerns prevent the cleaning from being completed safely.
